Individual psychotherapy in Kraków

Individual psychotherapy means regular one-to-one sessions with a psychotherapist — at our practice in Kraków or online. It is time just for you: you can calmly look at what is difficult, understand your emotions, thoughts and reactions better, and then change something step by step.

This is not about “repairing” you; it is a safe conversation that can leave you feeling lighter.

Step by step

What it looks like

The first session. We start with a consultation: you say what brings you here, and the therapist asks about what is important in order to understand you. You do not have to prepare anything or be able to name the problem. Sometimes 2–3 such meetings are needed before you agree together on the goal and the way of working.

How often and how long. A session lasts 50 minutes and usually takes place once a week, at a fixed time. Therapy can last a few months when it concerns one specific difficulty, or longer when you want to look at deeper patterns. You decide the length together and can change it.

At the practice or online. Sessions take place at ul. Szlak 77, close to the centre of Kraków, or over a video call. You can also combine the two.

Confidentiality. Everything you say is covered by professional secrecy. Each of us works under regular supervision and in line with the code of ethics.

FAQ

Individual psychotherapy — frequently asked questions

Can’t find an answer? Call us — we are happy to talk.

How is psychotherapy different from talking to someone close to me?

A conversation with a friend gives support, but a friend has their own views, emotions and expectations. A psychotherapist is trained to help you see your own patterns and emotions — without judging and without shortcuts. It is a relationship in which all the attention is for you.

How long does psychotherapy last?

It depends on what you come with and what you need. Short-term therapy usually lasts a few months, long-term therapy a year or more. You discuss the goal and the time frame with your therapist at the start and during the work.

How do I choose a therapist?

Look at the profiles of our therapists — each person describes what people most often come to them with and how they work. It also matters whether you feel at ease with that person. If you do not know who to choose, call us: we will help.

Do I need a referral or a diagnosis?

No. It is enough that something weighs on you. Naming the problem is part of the work we do together.

What if I need medication?

A psychiatrist sees patients at Primavera. Psychotherapy and medication can go side by side — your therapist will suggest when it is worth consulting a psychiatrist.

Is an online session as valuable as one at the practice?

For many people it is — what matters is the relationship with the therapist and the regularity of the sessions. You need a quiet place where nobody can hear you and a stable internet connection. More about online psychotherapy.

What individual psychotherapy is

Psychotherapy is a process in which, together with a psychotherapist, you look at your emotions, thoughts and behaviour. It is not only about relief here and now. It is also about understanding where the difficulties come from — for example why you react in similar ways in similar situations, or end up in similar relationships — and finding new, healthier ways of coping.

The foundation is a safe, confidential relationship in which you can speak openly, without fear of being judged. We adjust the way of working to you: to what you bring, what you need and the pace you want to go at.

How we work at Primavera

Most of our team works in the Gestalt approach, in which what you are experiencing here and now matters, as does the way you are in contact with yourself and with others. Some specialists combine it with other approaches — you can read how a particular person works on their profile.

The centre brings together psychologists, psychotherapists and a psychiatrist. That means you do not have to look for help in several places: if it turns out that couples therapy, a group or a psychiatric consultation would be better, we will help you arrange it. We keep training and work under supervision — a standard we take seriously.
